The world is dark,
these marks will tell,
Body, heart equally marred,
with pains untold,
but sung to the dark.
We live in a prison,
our skins the cage,
come closer, heed and listen,
to the whispered tale.
“Scars fade but won’t heal,
times change that’s the deal
we won’t always lie in wait
when the time comes you’ll feel our pain
Tit for tat that’s how it goes
an eye for an eye Nemesis knows”
I swear with every breath I take
my child’s path I intend to make
I know it’s a hard path to pave
But I swear I won’t let them call my child a slave
